Letting Go :-) :-( :-/

What does it mean to truly let go? How can you gauge when you have had enough and it's time to go? Is it your job, your relationship, your current....whatever it may be? Only you know what is right for you. I am big on giving spiritual advice right now because that is what has worked for me. I believe that after your mind is made up and you are clear about your intentions, it's time to act and make a clear, conscious, unrushed, unemotional, heartfelt decision to take the next step.

Sometimes the term "letting go" is much easier said than done. For example, if you know that your letting go would put others in a tough position you may hold on a little longer or make excuses for why you need to stay put. It is necessary to pray about everything and worry about nothing. I pray from the time I open my eyes until the time I go to bed at night and I'm still not done. Sometimes I start praying and realize I'm all prayed out. But God knows my heart, he knows all of my wants and needs and that is why it is so important for ME to know what I need.

I know that I have the need to do what comes naturally and what feels right to me. I know that I need to focus on long term happiness, health, and prosperity. I am on a personal quest to see how far I can take this "faith thang". I really want all that this life has to offer as long as it is positive, uplifting, and from God. How do I know what's from God or if it is just my own selfish desires???  I'm still figuring that part out!

I decided to come back to my first love which is writing. I have strayed for far too long. Writing is what gives me peace. It is what allows me to take out all my frustration, stress, and anger at times. I write when good things happen, I write when not so good things happen, I write all the time....but I just stuff the writing in my file cabinet, my closet, my drawer, my purse, my checkbook, my planner, my car, my bible, or anywhere else that I can imagine to put it at the time and I never come around to looking at what I have written again until I am upset and happen to come across the paper as I clean up or feel the need to throw some stuff away.

I can truly say that I am letting go of bad habits, bad ways of thinking, and I am letting go of things that I am trying to make work that just aren't working. I feel that by letting go of what shouldn't be in my life anyway, I will attract all that is supposed to be in the midst and in my presence.

I'm not letting go of my common sense and I'm not letting go of my blog!

I'm BAAAAACK!

Food for Thought

Too much of anything is not god for our bodies. Too much of the wrong foods and drinks can prove themselves as detrimental to our health and our progress. It is very important to regulate what  and how much  of certain things we put into and on our bodies for many reasons.

****I would like input from those who choose not to perm their hair accompanied by reasons why others should or should not do the same.****

Personally speaking....I have chosen not to perm my hair any more as well as abstaining from meat and sugar for the next thirty days. I believe that we all go through a phase or change in our lives when the old way just isn't working and it's time to switch things up. The purpose for my change is to see what can be accomplished when I withdraw from certain things and look for spiritual guidance and answers in the process. My Christian faith is taking me in a new direction and I am anxious to see the fullness and goodness of God when I submit myself to a different lifestyle than I have previously lived. I also have decided to end a dependence of medicine/drugs and alcohol to help me cope with life's obstacles. Tylenol PM is a good sleep aide but from now on I plan to try God, prayer and meditation, and writing to help me rest when I feel troubled.

As my dear friend of many many years always tells me..."anything worth having is worth working for". I plan to work towards a better, healthier, stable, beautiful, natural ME!

I would also like to thank the people that have been on the journey with me from the beginning and who listen when I hit a bump in the road from time to time.

THINK ABOUT IT:  Is there anything taking your focus off of your goals? Is there anything you know that is not productive to you and what you are trying to accomplish? Why not make the decision to get it out of your way?

INPUT = OUTPUT

The things you take in are a direct reflection of what comes out of you. You speak foolishness if you have been listening to a bunch of foolishness. Some things should literally go in one ear and right out of the other if you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to avoid listening. For example, if you are on a moving bus or train, in a classroom setting, or at your desk at work you may have no control over what you hear. Many people are able to filter and/or monitor what enters their ears and mind from the beginning.

Some songs that do not glorify, uplift, or respect women do not have to be listened to. Even though the beat may be hot, if the message doesn't shed a positive light for everyone to enjoy...it could affect different people in different ways. Young, impressionable minds do not know the difference when their favorite rapper or singer classifies all women as hoes, chickens, skanks, etc. They are forced to assume for lack of better knowledge that all women fit into the same category.

As parents, we should exercise our parental rights and abilities to turn the radio off or change the station. It's not against the law to sing ABC's to little ones or have a meaningful conversation with our child or children while driving to our destination.

Apart from music, the same principle applies to gossip, pornographic images, false teachings, and profanity.

I challenge everyone to make a conscious effort to be more aware of what you are letting enter into your mind whether it is subconscious or otherwise...Let's be in control enough to realize and understand that if the right things go in, the right things will come out.
